Dear non-Catholic friend,

I honestly appreciate your interest in the bible and of carved images. Thank you.

Exodus 20:4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or that is on the earth beneath or that is in the water below.

The verse pertains to the following;

1) of anything that is in heaven above
2) or that is on the earth beneath
3) or that is in the water below.

First, aside from just reading the bible be aware of the culture during the time of Exodus. We have historical artifacts that will tell you what practice is rampant then.

Secondly, the verse actually pertains to animism. Animism from Latin animus meaning “soul, life” is the belief that animals and even plants have live spirits and are treated as gods.

Third;

1) Bubuyog – of anything that is in heaven above
2) Bulate – or that is on the earth beneath
3) Butete – or that is in the water below.

Have you seen such being venerated in our Churches? If you cannot even do a little bit of textual analysis how much more can you understand the rest of scripture? It is written, 2 Peter 3:16 “Therein are some things hard to understand, which those who are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction.”

Fourth, there are numerous verses that images are actually mentioned to be created to adorn the ‘House of God’ and God Himself gave the specific instructions even the details. Does your church follow them?

Fifth, if you read scripture completely aside from images there are instructions for the use of altars, candles and incense. Does your church follow those?

Sixth, Christianity since time immemorial have as proven from artifacts FOUND on excavations from the ACTUAL biblical settings, unearth images and icons.

Seventh, the Exodus verse was during the time of Moses. The Egyptians then were notorious for worshiping carved animals. The verse however serves as a warning and sad to say Catholics heed that warning. Mind you we don’t venerate a T-rex so scrap your mindless misuse of the bible.

Eighth, If the Jews followed God to make images to adorn His temple. Why did Jesus himself adhered to Jewish temple if He does not allow such?

Ninth, are you aware you are actually sinning by ‘bearing false witness’ to another?

Tenth, if you only would try to discern and if you do have the Holy Spirit, man including you is actually a product of God’s graving of His own image and likeness. Unless, you think otherwise and God did something quite wrong.

Now only pride will keep us from actually realizing the truth.

LabYu!
