#RedWednesdayPH: Call for more committed Catholics Posted by Fr. Mickey Cardenas!

BAGUIO – With the launching of the Red Wednesday campaign in the Philippines on Nov. 22, a Church official in this diocese expressed hope that the initiative will encourage greater awareness among Filipinos about the severity of the Christian persecution abroad but will also move them to stand up for the faith in their own country.

“Filipinos might think that Christians are persecuted only in some areas of Mindanao, as shown by the relentless attacks of terrorist groups or the recent siege of Marawi. Many are not even aware of the scale of Christian persecution in the rest of the country,” lamented Fr. Manuel G. Flores Jr., director of the Diocesan Commission for Promoting Integral Human Development, in-charge of the Red Wednesday campaign in the Diocese of Baguio.

“Filipino Catholics cannot rest on the fact that our country is predominantly Christian which can make them complacent [about] a ‘creeping persecution’ against the faith and the basic rights of the human person,” warned the priest.

Modern, hi-tech persecution

The Social Action Ministry coordinator pointed out that many Christians in the country today, as in the days of the early Church, cannot fully practice their faith without fear or obstruction.

To prove his point the priest cited issues currently affecting Philippine society: extra-judicial killings, destruction of the environment, corruption, gambling, the approval of contraceptives, the push for divorce in the guise of “Dissolution of Marriage”, undermining the institution of the family through same-sex unions, and the blurring the definition of man and woman in the name of equality.

According to the priest, practicing the faith, defending human rights, or upholding basic truths about the human person “exposes the Christian to lawsuits, threats, bashing, name-calling, or ridicule.”

“Persecutors of Christians,” he added, “instead of dialogue, resort to personal attacks or to the obfuscation of the issues through ‘fake news’ generated by ‘trolls’.”

The Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), the Pontifical charity dedicated to serving the needs of persecuted Christian communities worldwide, launched the Red Wednesday campaign to raise awareness about the persecution of Christians who have suffered and died for the faith.

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) endorsed the Red Wednesday campaign by inviting all cathedrals, minor basilicas, and national and diocesan shrines to illuminate their façade in red on Nov. 22.

The faithful are also encouraged to wear red clothing or markers on the same day.

In Baguio City, the main celebration of Red Wednesday will be a 5:15 p.m. Holy Eucharist, to be presided over by Bishop Victor B. Bendico, at the Our Lady of Atonement Cathedral.

Aside from the Mass, parishes and other institutions are invited to offer the holy Eucharist and pray the Angelus Prayer for Persecuted Christians from Nov. 22 until 24. Source: CBCPNews

Pope’s Amoris Laetitia doctrinally sound, says Cardinal Quevedo Posted by Roy Lagarde | Jan 19, 2017 |

MANILA– A Filipino cardinal sees nothing wrong with Pope Francis’ most recent teachings on family life amid pleads for clarity.

Cardinal Orlando Quevedo said the Pope’s post-synodal exhortation “Amoris Laetitia” remains to be doctrinally sound.

“It’s clear enough that the Pope is holding on to doctrine,” Cardinal Quevedo said in a press conference held on the sidelines of the 4th World Apostolic Congress on Mercy (WACOM) in Manila on Tuesday.

“I read it twice to find out what they are saying,” he said. “I cannot understand the justification that the pope has to clarify his position.”

The Cotabato archbishop was referring to the four prominent cardinals who publicly questioned the pontiff about communion for the divorced and remarried.

Cardinals Walter Brandmüller, Raymond Burke, Carlo Caffarra, and Joachim Meisner said the Pope must “resolve the uncertainties and bring clarity.”

But Cardinal Quevedo said the papal document only seeks to find out “pastoral applications” of the doctrine that would show compassion and mercy to those in troubled circumstances.

“He is not questioning the doctrine. He is only suggesting how the Church can be more compassionate to those in difficult circumstances of marriage, divorced and so on,” he said.

The prelate added that publicly challenging the Pope from supposedly his defenders is “divisive of the Church”.

“We are advisers of the Pope and these are given at the proper forum,” he added.

In his talk to the delegates of WACOM, he also lamented that how a “vocal minority” is questioning the Popes vision of Church of the poor.

He said some people think of that vision as “ideological” that “comes from the left.”

“They are raising doctrinal objections to the pastoral concern of the Holy Father for mercy and compassion and those in great need,” said Cardinal Quevedo.

“But it is really a vision that truly comes from the early times of Christianity — the Church of the poor,” he said. CBCPNews

REACTIONS OF RENOWNED BIBLE SCHOLARS ON RECENT BRO. DUANE [RCC] VS RENE PANONCILLO [I.N.C.] DEBATE!!!

 by splendor1618

REACTION OF RENOWNED BIBLE SCHOLARS ABOUT THE RECENT DEBATE OF DUANE CARTUJANO AGAINST THE IGLESIA NI CRISTO – INTELLIGENT PEOPLE KNOW WHO CAN REALLY UNDERSTAND AND ANSWER CORRECTLY.

Here are the comments of respected Bible Scholars about the debate between Mr. Duane and the Iglesia ni Cristo. Books of bible scholars are also used by INC ministers in their debates and programs.

———
“They simple opted for the other reading. He did not answer your question about early manuscripts.”

Dr. Darrell Bock
Author of Interpreting The New Testament Text

———
“I’m glad it was successful. It is pointless to use modern translations “to argue against Hebrew or Greek originals. The decisive wording and base of interpretation is the Hebrew or Greek originals. Modern translations are just good (but not perfect) attempts to make the meaning clear.”

Dr. Eugene Ulrich
Author of The Dead Sea Scrolls and the Origins of the Bible

———
“It sounds to me that you were way over-prepared and he was way under-prepared. It’s always best to do it the way you have, Duane. I’m very proud of you and am grateful to know you.”

Dr. Daniel Wallace
Author of Greek Grammar Beyond the Basics

———
“Duane: I’m very glad to hear the debate went well. It sounds like your arguments were sound and your opponent was unable to refute them. Please keep up the excellent work.”

Dr. Andreas Kostenberger
Author of Going Deeper with New Testament Greek: An Intermediate Study of the Grammar and Syntax of the New Testament

These scholars are experts who read and understand original text of the bible. They have more credibility that those who claim they studied biblical languages but they were taught a different version by their Professors. We must believe them instead of who say they understand the bible but use the wrong translation and do not understand the right grammar and syntax of the New Testament text.

Our Lady of Most Holy Rosary Cathedral Parish Dipolog City celebrating “March of Saints” Last October 31, 2017 in Celebration of All Saints Day not a Demon Day!

Today, instead of wearing masks of zombies, monsters and terrifying creatures, why not the SAINTS who are the very persons we are really celebrating for Halloween. Instead of monsters and vampires that scare us, why not the heroes of the faith who inspire us?

—————————————————————————————————————————————-

Last October 31, 2017, Our Lady of Most Holy Rosary Cathedral Parish Dipolog City ,Diocese of Dipolog in “March of Saints” childrens are wearing costumes portraying Saints to correct some celebrating halloween day which is not Christ Centered but Vampires/Monsters Centered. A lot of Church workers participate the occassion and himself our good bishop of Diocese of Dipolog and a deacon Most Rev. Severo C. Caermare, D.D. and Rev. Francis Sarita.

Below are the scriptural citations that word “Saints” is truly biblical. :

English: New American Standard Bible
Jude
14. It was also about these men that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord came with many thousands of His holy ones,
15. to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”

English: New American Standard Bible
Revelation 5:
8. When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

English: King James Version
Psalms 116:
15. Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

9. And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
10.

And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

(Kingjames Version, Revelation 6:9-10)

In Revelation 6:9-10 is what referring to Saints? Yes, because we Roman Catholics bear fruit of holiness as what the bible says in 1 Peter 1:16. as we conclude because in the Roman Catholic Church bear fruit of holiness Like Saint Pedro Calungsod a Catechist died because of the Word of God.

To proclaim the word of God, educate the catholic faithful and if necessary, to defend the doctrines and practices of the Catholic Church which are subject of the attack and criticism by our "separated brethren", in the field of social media (Atty.
