Archbishop Villegas invites faithful to join Walk for Life

Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines President Archbishop Socrates Villegas invites the faithful to come and join the Walk for Life on February 18 at the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta, Manila from 4:30 to 8:00 in the morning.

In his message of invitation, Archbishop Villegas encourages all the people to participate and fill the streets to express the choice of condemning death and choosing life.

“Let us walk for life, let us fill our streets not with blood not with dead bodies but with prayer with courage to walk to stand up for life. Let us stand up for life, let us walk for life, February 18, is our date. God bless you all,” he said.

Villegas also reminds the people that it is not the will of God to see dead bodies and dead infants thrown in the streets. God’s plan for mankind is to have a safe and sound environment where they can live happily and peacefully.

“My dear brothers and sisters in Christ is it God’s will that blood be on our streets? Is it God’s will that dead bodies of our brothers and sisters be found in our sidewalks? Is it God’s will that mothers kill the infants in their wombs? It is not God’s will,” he added.

The Walk for Life is part of the advocacy of the Catholic Church to value the dignity of human life. The Catholic Church in its unified voice, is against death penalty, contraception, abortion and euthanasia because these are all anti-life and are agents of death.

Earlier, Bishop Broderick Pabillo, Chairman of CBCP-Episcopal Commission on the Laity urged the laity to stand up for life and not to be mum particularly on the extra-judicial killings happening in the country.
